When I had my first child, a son, 10 years ago, I was young and most of what I received for him were hand-me-downs. Having just recently had another child, a little girl, we’re lucky enough to afford better items… or so we thought.
A difficult hurdle to overcome as a parent is making sure that what you’re providing to your child(ren) is the best, and sadly that’s not always the case. In fact, within the first 3 weeks after our daughter was born, we experienced the disappointment of 3 broken, but brand-new, items.
This is why I’ve started this blog. I’m one of the most painfully honest people I know. If I like something, I will spread the word! If I don’t, I will do the same. But my standards are high; not just with children’s items, but with everything I look forward to reviewing.
Update: Two years later
I am so absolutely grateful for the fun I’ve had with this blog and the opportunities it’s afforded me! I remember when Ella was born and I started this blog; I’d lost my job, I was home all day with a sleeping baby and I was overwhelmed with being bored. Products had changed so much since having Garrett 10 years previously, and there were ones that we absolutely loved and ones that, well, weren’t so successful in our household.
It all started with a tub. A simple, inexpensive baby tub that was so dangerous I thought it shouldn’t even be on the market. The sad thing is, it was a mass-produced product from a well-known company. I wanted to tell everyone I knew! Instead, it was because of that product, and a few other cheers and jeers products, that motivated me to start this blog.
It started with a few product reviews of products I already owned, my own sponsored giveaway and a simple Blogger platform and self-designed header. I wasn’t sure where it would go, but I continued to grown my blog, my contacts and my readership. I’ve been to conferences, I’ve been invited to exclusive events and made a little money, although that’s never what it was about.
I’m so thankful that it continues to chug along and I continue to be grateful for each and everyone of our readers!
