Why does fall get to have all the fun? When we think of apples and cinnamon and pies and fruit crisps, it’s usually because fall weather has set in and we need a little comfort food in our life. But what about the cooler temps of spring? Don’t we deserve apples and cinnamon when spring teases us with warm weather then kicks us right back into cooler temps?
Do you know what else we deserve? Easy cereal morning, but with the good cereal that our kids insist on eating. Not the bran cereal we have to eat. Remember Fruity Pebbles and Cocoa Pebbles? Now, they have Cinnamon Pebbles!

Yep, I just said Cinnamon Pebbles and Apple Crisp in the same sentence! It’s like fall all year ’round and trust me, your family will love the cereal and our Yabba Dabba Delicious Apple Crisp.
Yabba Dabba Delicious Apple Crisp
To make the topping for the apple crisp, first sift 1 cup of flour in a bowl. Then cut 10 tablespoons of butter into cubes. Make sure the butter is really cold; this is how the topping gets so crisp! Using a pasty cutter, work the butter into the flour until it’s well blended into a course mix.
To the flour and butter mixture, add 1/2 cup of packed dark brown sugar, 1/4 cup of rolled oats, 1/2 cup of Cinnamon Pebbles, 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Using your hands, work into large moist clumps. Refrigerate while you make the filling.
For the filling, peel and dice 6-8 Granny Smith apples. If you don’t like tart apples, Jonagold are slightly tart with a hint of sweetness. Honeycrisp are perfectly sweet and aren’t at all tart.
In a large mixing bowl, mix the diced apples, one tablespoon of fresh lemon juice, 1/2 teaspoon of Cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, and 2 tablespoons of flour. Toss until well mixed.
Lightly grease an 8″ baking pan and fill with the apple mixture. Then, top with the flour mixture. Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 40-45 minutes until top is golden brown.
The most difficult part about this recipe is resisting the urge to eat the Cinnamon Pebbles straight from the box – that sweet smell of cinnamon is almost too much to handle.

- 10 tbsp. very cold unsalted butter
- 1/2 c. packed dark brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 tbsp. granulated sugar
- 1/4 c. rolled oats
- 1/2 c. new Cinnamon Pebbles
- 6-8 Granny Smith apples, peeled and cubed
- 1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp. flour
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- Sift the flour.
- Cube the butter. The colder the better!
- Use a pasty cutter and mix the butter & flour until it's well mixed.
- Add brown sugar, salt, granulated sugar, oats, and Cinnamon Pebbles
- Wash, peel, and cube apples
- Put the apples in a large mixing bowl and add lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar, and flour
- Mix well
- Grease pan. Add apple mixture then top with flour mixture. Bake for 40-45 minutes
