The STEALTH 600 from Turtle Beach is the latest wireless surround sound gaming headset for Xbox One and PS4. Starting at under $100, they’re comfortable, offer great surround sound quality, and other features.
Even if you’re not a gamer, there are several reasons to love the Stealth 600 gaming headphones from Turtle Beach. First, they’re affordable; I’ve been hardpressed to find quality headphones for under $100. Second, the surround sound improves your gaming experience. And, if you’re not the one gaming, then you’ll enjoy the absence of noise that normally screams from your game room or man cave.
I don’t consider myself a huge gamer, though my husband and son take it very seriously. To be honest, I could be content with an old-fashioned game of Super Mario Bros. for hours. I just don’t have the coordination it takes for modern games, especially RPG and first-person games. I’m very competitive, I prefer to be really good at things right from the get-go, and I throw things – a lot of things – when things don’t go my way. I think that’s why the boys hate when I try to play.
No matter the type of games you prefer, the Stealth 600 gaming headphones can put you right in the middle of the experience. I love that they’re wireless so you’re not adding to the collection of cords already there. At this price point, I was pleasantly surprised at the audio quality – in fact, it was better than what comes from our television speakers.
For me, the headphones felt comfortable and built sturdy. For my husband, the placement of the mic was a little awkward, pressing against his cheek. Although this isn’t a feature he uses often with the games he plays, thankfully the fit for my son found the mic in a little better position. The mic does fold back into the earpiece when not in use, which is convenient.
I also noticed that, because I wear glasses, often headsets are very uncomfortable. I did not find this issue with the Stealth 600 headset.
If you’re an Xbox One user, you’ll enjoy the immersive virtual surround sound provided by Microsoft’s new Windows Sonic for Headphones. On PS4, the STEALTH 600 features Turtle Beach Virtual Surround Sound for a truly engaging gaming audio experience.
Once charged, the 600 has an average 15-hour battery life, high-quality 50mm speakers, and audio presets including Bass Boost to further enhance your gameplay experience.
The fit is a little odd at first as most gaming headphones sit further forward. I thought I had them on backward at first, but despite the feeling that they’d fall off at any moment, they stayed securely in place.
Turtle Beach has the Stealth 600 gaming headphones on sale right now for $89.95 which is an ideal price for these. The quality is impressive, the sound is even better, and I no longer have to listen to gunshots from the kitchen when I’m not playing.
