Fear not, fellow parents! School is almost out for the summer which means vacations, less time nagging the kids about their homework, and more time with the kids – which may or may not be good news to you. Summer is a great time to enroll your kids in music lessons, as lessons will help your kids to keep their mind sharp during the summer without spending all day in a classroom.
TakeLessons.com connects students and families with private music teachers, arts instructors and academic tutors throughout the US. We’ve been in business since 2006, and have worked with over 30,000 students nationwide. Safety and quality are our priorities; every instructor completes an extensive interview, training, and an annual criminal background check. We assist with scheduling, initial coordination with the instructor, and billing – so all you have to worry about is enjoying your lessons! Your online student account also helps you stay organized with scheduling and billing tools.
Being a parent is a job, regardless of whether you’re a stay-at-home parent, working parent, work-at-home parent or other type. It’s a tough job; likely the most difficult you’ll ever have – and the busiest! Now that summer is here, we’re adding weddings, reunions, vacations, sports games and other activities to our already busy schedule. We start to find that quality family time becomes few and far between and before we know it, the kids are heading back to school and the schedule that we thought would clear is now full once again.
The Active Family Project is designed to help empower moms to enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle with their families so they can live life the way they love. It offers families tips and advice for fun family activities and aims to build a national community of moms dedicated to a healthy and active lifestyle.
Merck Consumer Care is the power force behind the launch of this campaign and is a great way to not only encourage families to spend more time together but to help them find activities that the whole family can enjoy and that are nearby.
Weather in Ohio, and likely other parts of the country, feels so random sometimes. Last week, it was in the 60s and 70s; this week, we’re experiencing temperatures in the 90s and above. My legs are expected to go from a protective coating of jeans and an I-shaved-last-week-or-so attitude to having to be ready for shorts at any moment. One really starts to appreciate the layers that comfort us throughout the winter, covering our laxidasical shaving routine and our not so smooth legs.
I know I can’t be the only woman that feels this way, so we’re really excited to be partnering with Verseo for our Glide Into Summer Giveaway! One lucky As Mom Sees It reader will win their eGlide Hair Removal Roller and their Cellular Massager, just in time for summer.
Now that the weather has warmed, we find ourselves outside much more with the kids. This is great for them, since it gives them the opportunity to burn off some energy before the evening, and it’s great for us because we can stay more active and healthy. Now that Ella is older, we’ve wanted so badly to go on bike rides with kids, and I love the selection that Schwinn has. The look of their bikes are fun and classic, so we were really excited to join other bloggers in this fun giveaway of a Schwinn Windwood Women’s Cruiser Bike!
If you suffer from allergies, you know that allergy season is here, and in full force. I knew it with the first itch of my throat and since the kids and I are outside most of the day, pollen is unavoidable. In our car, however, it’s a different story. Inspections during most oil changes will check tire pressure, air filter and brakes, but your cabin air filter is sometimes overlooked. It’s often forgotten by most car owners. Fram Fresh Breeze cabin air filters are the best way to ensure cleaner air for your family car rides.
Coffee runs in my veins; it may have even replaced my blood, I can’t be sure. A good cup of coffee warms the soul, it wakes us up in the morning and can enhance an already delicious dessert. During my two recent trips to New York City, I realized several things but most importantly, I love that NYC has a Starbucks® on almost every single corner. In my neck of the woods, we’re not that lucky. There are a few in our area, but the closest one is in our Kroger and *apparently* it’s frowned upon to get my coffee dressed in jammies and bed head. But my barista always has a smiling face!
Last year at BlogHer, I was so excited to learn that Starbucks® was creating a machine that brewed my coffee, lattees and espresso at home I was, well, there’s no word that I can think of that tops thrilled! Meet Verismo, the new love of my life (please don’t tell my boyfriend).
The machine that makes both espresso and brewed coffee. Now you have the famous coffeehouse recipes to create the drinks you love – Caffe Latte, espresso, and a freshly brewed cup of Starbucks® coffee – at home. Our sweet creamy Caffe Latte, the original loved in our coffeehouses. Our caramelly rich true espresso, perfectly unchanged since our first handcrafted latte.
I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for MetLife. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
Mother’s Day offers moms the best excuse to relax – although truth be told, we don’t really do much of that, do we? As soon we sit, our kids beg for something to drink. As soon as we ‘rest our eyes’, the kids want us to “Look at this, mom! Look! Look!” and as soon as we get a moment of peace, even in the bathroom, then… well, you know how the rest goes, don’t you?
While we don’t often get a chance to relax or unwind, moms need to make it a point to make at least one day a year (if not more) to attempt the impossible; absolutely nothing at all. Even if it’s spending the day at the park with our kids, avoiding laundry and dishes, or a lovely afternoon at a day spa, it’s our time – our day to unwind and unplug.
If there’s one type of gift, for any occasion, that we’ve talked about more than anything on As Mom Sees It, it’s personalized gifts. Not just the run-of-the-mill initialed his and hers towels or glasses, but practical gifts that speak to the gift recipient. They show that time, effort and – most importantly – thought was put into purchasing their gift.
One site we love for personalized gifts is Cafe Press! From funny to heartfelt, their personalized gift options are ideal for any time of the year, especially for Mother’s Day!
I love that Cafe Press now has bedding items – duvet covers, pillow cases, blankets and more. They’re fun and definitely different from the clay ashtray your kid made or another framed photo to hang on mom’s already photo-saturated walls. You’re literally comforting mom each and every night!
Sure, you’ve seen iPhone cases everywhere by now, but if your mom is like me, she likes to change the look of her phone as often as she does her shoes or her purse; maybe even change with the seasons or holidays. I’m a huge fan of the super cool designs that are featured – fun, funny, designer, vintage, retro and so many more. Cafe Press even features Duck Dynasty iPhone cases and judging from the buzz on social media, these should technically be sold out already (rest assured they’re not, however).
