Why I Celebrated National Oatmeal Day In Bed

Today is National Oatmeal Day; I should be enjoying an oatmeal and coconut oil facial or making delicious desserts with my Quaker Oats. Instead, I’m laying in bed sick, likely because of all the germs my kids are collecting and gifting to me, with a cup of plain, hot oatmeal. Hey, we don’t always have to create magic with oatmeal; sometimes we can just let plain ol’ oatmeal work its own magic.

Kids are active, there’s no denying that. If they were paid based on their activity level, they’d be making far more than any professional athlete. At least that’s true for my kids, especially for my teenaged son. There’s been a few times when I’ve looked outside on a chilly fall day to see that he’s taken off most of his clothing – down to a t-shirt and pants, sometimes shorts – because he “can’t move in all that clothing.” We had to find a better solution and we did with Under Armour.
