Family time, especially around Christmas, meant that we were able to stay up “late” (8pm or 9pm was late for young kids) to watch A Charlie Brown Christmas! But, did you know that the Peanuts special almost didn’t make it to television? We talked to Jill Schulz, the daughter of creator Charles Schulz.
The 1980s were the best time for movies; cheesy soundtracks, slow motion action scenes, and the start of the careers of many of our most beloved actors that are still popular today. Not to mention, the high bangs, slouch socks and neon. There’s no denying, the 80s were totally awesome!
There are three things I know that I must have as I plan my upcoming wedding – a great dress, perfect makeup and amazing hair. All eyes will be on me that day, and what bride doesn’t want to look her best? In fact, with my job as a blogger, it’s important that I always look my best.
I’m proud to say that I have really great hair – even my hairdresser tells me she loves it every time I get my hair cut! Some of that is genes, much of it is the way I take care of my hair. Sometimes, we review products that are meant for adults and some are meant for kids. There’s usually a distinct difference between the two; mommy gets all the cool tech and boring beauty products (I love ‘em, the kids don’t) and the kids get all the fun toys, games and kid’s clothes.
Sometimes that line is blurred and I have to pull rank and claim items like the Special Edition Disney Magical World 3DS XL and the Disney Magical World game. We received both to facilitate our review, but all opinions are my own and were not influenced.
This year, I have the distinct honor of being a Quaker Classroom Ambassador! This means that I get to help spread the word about the partnership between Quaker and Adopt A Classroom. From now until September 30th, you can purchase specially-marked Quaker products and enter the unique codes online. For every single code entered, Quaker will donate $1 to AdoptAClassroom.org – up to $250,000 (with a minimum donation of $150,000) to help fuel classrooms and help teachers across the country. Just for entering the code, you’ll get $1 off Quaker products.
It also means that I get to remind parents how valuable our teachers are to our families. Did you know that teachers spend more than $1 billion each school year stocking their own classrooms? That’s a lot of out-of-pocket scratch for those amazing educators that spend the better part of their days, five days a week, with our kids. It doesn’t have to cost a lot of money to show our appreciation, so here are some amazing and easy DIY teacher gift ideas that you can do with your kids year ’round!
